This will include discussions on the 4 pillars created to help each individual learn simple techniques for working with aches and pains.
Do you notice yourself building in tension throughout the day? Have you ever noticed your ears up by your shoulders? Are there times at the end of your day when you're trying to relax and you start to notice pain or discomfort in the body?
In this two-part series we will review how the body creates memory around how we hold ourselves and how our daily experiences may influence how we experience various sensations in the body. We will look at our habitual posture, discover tips for checking in with ourselves and learn techniques to "release the pressure valve" of tension that seems to build throughout the day. Together we will go through some simple strategies for alleviating the body of stressful patterns and help you develop new habits for dropping into your internal body, even when living a busy life.
Part 1 (10/4): Exploring our posture and discovering our breath
Part 2 (10/18): Mobilizing the body and freeing the mind
We will review the following practices:
- Body scanning
- Tension and release
- Diaphragmatic breathing
- Pelvic awareness
- The connection between our diaphragm and our pelvis
- and how to incorporate all of the above into our daily routine
